With the arrival of European slave traders and colonialists, the Ghanaian cuisine evolved further encompassing these new influences. The Ghanaian cuisine has significant influences from the Portuguese, Dutch, British, Germans and Danes which all married with their rich indigenous culture and tradition to birth what we now know as Ghanaian suya spice.

Sauté rice and onions till onions are translucent. Add cubed chicken pieces. Mix tomato paste and Ghanaian Suya spice and water to boil. Cover and let simmer till the chicken is cooked and the rice is dry.
